Lebowskifest: San Francisco

September 6th, 2008 by timbotron

Just got back from the Lebowskifest opening party in San Francisco.

Two words: It rocked!

For those of you behind in the ways of coolness:
Lebowskifest is a cult festival celebrating the Coen Brothers’ 1998 film “The Big Lebowski.” This semi-annual festival began in 2002 and has taken place in major cities around the United States. Sort of like a respectable Star Trek convention with much better street-cred.
And booze.
And live bands.
And attractive women.

A few photo highlights:

The Dude Abides Bonus Round:
The highlight of this year’s Lebowskifest: I got to meet Jeff “The Dude” Dowd – a friend of the Coen brothers who the film character Jeffrey “The Dude” Lebowski is based upon. He was a really nice guy.
