CON: 60% chance the party will suck.
PRO: Everyone else is out having fun: dressed up, drunk, and lively.
CON: You see most of these people on a weekly basis: dressed up, drunk, and lively.
PRO: There will be snacks and hors d’oeuvres!
CON: There will never be enough snacks to drown out the monotony.
PRO: You’ll feel like a loser sitting at home.
CON: You’ll feel like a loser sitting at a party.
PRO: You like dancing and drinking.
CON: Both combined = blackmail moment.
PRO: It will be a night of drinking champagne.

PRO: This is a chance to celebrate the passing of 2008, a decent year.
CON: This is a chance to watch TV and go to sleep early.

PRO: You need to go out, have fun, be social.
