A topic close to our hearts, we at Blogadilla salute Bad Candy – a site dedicated to exploring and eating the worst of the candy world.
The writing is hilarious.

Tootsie Roll Industries (the makers of Tootsie Rolls, duh) have some pretty swell wallpapers. And even free nostalgic ringtones.

Absinthe Gummy Bears…

Tuesday, June 3rd, 2008

Absinthe is the new bacon. There’s a super hip restaurant in NYC called “Tailor” that serves absinthe gummy bears. They’re 85% absinthe, and sorry to say, I couldn’t figure out a way to pay them to send me some.

Also, absinthe lollypops at Lollyphile.

For more flavor overload, check out a dish at Tailor that’s just called, “Fois Gras, Peanut Butter, Cocoa, Pear“.

(Heywood, I demand that you go there!)

BPOW: Chocolate Covered Bacon!

Tuesday, May 20th, 2008

Wow.  We’ve talked about Bacon & Chocolate before in bar form, but this week’s Bacon Product of the Week takes the combination to a whole new level.  Marini’s Munchi’s of Santa Cruz, CA– also known for their Goatse-esque logo– has, after numerous R&D trials, no doubt, developed the mythical chocolate covered bacon.

At $17.00 per pound, eat it at your own risk, though it sure looks tasty.  Or, if you’re the more adventurous type, you can even try Kevin Karagitz’s homemade recipe.  But as he says, proceed with EXTREME CAUTION.

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Marketing

Monday, April 28th, 2008

With the new Indiana Jones movie less than a month away (24 days left), it was only a matter of time until the marketing tie-ins cropped up.

M&Ms offers Indiana Jones M&M candies – like regular M&Ms, but with skulls, pyramids, compass roses, Indy hats, and Precolombian masks printed on them.

LEGO managed to produce cool Indiana Jones sets months ago (though I still can’t find them in stores).

Goatse and Candy

Friday, April 18th, 2008

When you’ve been traumatized by goatse [SFW], you’ll see it everywhere . . . even years later.

I saw this one last weekend:
Marini’s Munchies (Candy Store) on the Santa Cruz Municipal Wharf.
