Guess who’s not going to be vice president? That’s right– South Carolina governor, Mark Sanford. The state of South Carolina should be oh-so proud, with Sanford doing his best Lauren Caitlin Upton impression. Kudos to Keith Olbermann’s Countdown for this brilliant mashup.
We brought you The Rock-afire Explosion last August, and they’re back, this time doing their rendition of Usher’s “Love in This Club.” Make sure you stick around for rapper T.I.’s appearance as a puppet controlled by a puppet! This, like the Nadal-Federer Wimbledon final yesterday, is what we here at Blogadilla call an Instant Classic.

Either way, it’s way more creative than I could be… unless of course I get a Mac.

Instead of just 1 mashup this month, you instead get 7. That’s right, seven. I present to you The Shoot Back Mixtape - a collaboration with troublmedia.com.
Three police officers shot Sean Bell 50 times, killing him on the eve of his wedding night, and wounding his two passengers, later determining that all 3 men were unarmed. From the night of this social atrocity to the not guilty verdict 10 days ago, emotions have been fierce. Sadness. Anger. Frustration. Disgust. Fear.
Download The Shoot Back Mixtape, a collection of voices and speeches that convey the public discontent following the not guilty verdict awarded to the police officers who killed Bell. Or if you would rather stream the audio, check out The Shoot Back Muxtape.
Here’s the first track to whet your appetite. In the words of a protester speaking for Sean Bell: “It’s not about what you do today, but what you do tomorrow.”
This month I mixed together Depeche Mode’s “John The Revelator” with the overplayed but catchy “Get Low” by Flo Rida. The result: John The Revelator Gets Low. Alternate titles included “Flo Rida The Revelator” and “Depeche Does The Limbo.” Enjoy.

Lil Wayne + The Bravery. Make it Rain + Unconditional. The result? You be the judge. My opinion? Indie Electronica Rap ain’t half bad.

Great use of the censored “beep” sound clip to give the shtick of Sesame Street’s The Count a whole new meaning.

This month, I’m throwing funk into the mashup mix, with Herbie Hancock’s “Chameleon” as the backdrop for yet another Jay-Z A Capella, “Girls, Girls, Girls.”

Head over to mashup.starwars.com to make your very own Star Wars mashup out of both their clips and your own. Originally this was part of a SpikeTV contest and the winners were posted on Spike. Even though the deadline has passed, you can still do some funny stuff. Here’s a hilarious one my buddy Ralph made– Greedo’s Gangsta Ebonics. Enjoy!
To celebrate 2008, I threw it back 40 years to Jimi Hendrix’s 1968 cover of “All along the Watchtower,” mashed up with Jay-Z’s “H to the Izzo.”

In December’s monthly mashup, old meets new once again. Queen’s anthem “We Will Rock You” meets 50 Cent & Akon’s new track, “I’ll Still Kill.” And yes, I did have to pay 50 & Akon extra to get them to wear those wigs. Click the image to listen.

Prepare yourself folks, this is a Blogadilla exclusive.
Based on Timbotron’s inspiration, I’ve crossed Tay Zonday’s YouTube hit Chocolate Rain with one of the classic rap songs of the 1990s: Busta Rhymes’ “Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Can See.” The result? You be the judge.

October brings us a combination of genres, with Starsailor’s disco-anthem “Four to the Floor” backing up Fat Joe’s “New York.” Enjoy!

This month, I combined the South’s hottest new dance track “Crank That Soulja Boy” by the aptly named ‘Soulja Boy’ with Sean Kingston’s “Beautiful Girls” & The Shop Boyz’ “Party Like a Rockstar.” Enjoy!

Pop music: so bad but so good.
In my latest monthly mashup, I try to prove that 2+2 = 5 by mixing two pop songs (The Black Eyed Peas’ “Disco Club” with Justin Timberlake’s “Summer Love”), with the hope that the sum, in fact, is greater than the parts. Also, this is a fitting end to summer, which I’m sad to see go. Enjoy, and free to comment!

I regret not getting my hands on any of the d.j. DC “Beastles” mash-ups (The Beatles + Beastie Boys) before he took them off his site.
Alas, CCC / Ill Chemist offer forth their sweet, sweet Beatles mash-ups: “Cracked Pepper” (Beatles + everyone).

This has been around the Internet a little based on its 900,000+ YouTube views, but when I saw it today it was new to me and there was no question that it’s Blogadilla material.
I’m a big fan of mashups, but this is a mashup of a different style: music mashed with video. In 2006, Atlanta DJ and rap artist Unk released the addictive track “Walk It Out.” Shortly after, someone took a video clip from a 1960s TV show featuring Gwen Verdon (third wife of Bob Fosse and one of the best dancers of her time) dancing to a song called “Mexican Breakfast,” and had the idea to lay the rap track over the video. I can’t tell you what spurred the idea in the first place, but I can tell you is that the mix works out amazingly well. Check it out for yourself, and then for reference afterward, see the original.
That’s right folks, it’s time for another Monthly Mashup. This time, I took Timbaland’s “The Way I Are” and crossed it with Moby’s “Hymn. ” Enjoy!
